Stoel Rives Idaho Innovation Award finalists announced

A list of finalists in this year's Stoel Rives Idaho Innovation Awards has been released.

 

Sponsored by the Idaho Business Review and supported by accounting firm Cooper Norton, the awards recognize Idaho’s most forward-thinking firms, entrepreneurs and technologies.

 

Finalists include, in the Innovator of the Year category:

  • Timothy P. Barber, chief scientist at Keynetics Inc. in Boise;
  • Bruce J. Bradley, CEO of Microbial-Vac Systems Inc. in Jerome; and
  • Frank L. VanderSloot, president and CEO of Melaleuca in Idaho Falls.
 

In the Innovative Company of the Year category:

  • Keynetics Inc., of Boise;
  • Marketron Broadcast Solutions, of Hailey; and
  • Melaleuca, of Idaho Falls.
 

In the Innovation of the Year/Commercialized Technology category:

  • Antibody Profiling Identification (AbP ID), by the Idaho National Laboratory in Idaho Falls;
  • M-Vac System, by Microbial-Vac Systems, Inc. in Jerome; and
  • Motion to Energy Power Generation, also by the Idaho National Laboratory.
 

Finally, in the Innovation of the Year/Early-Stage Technology category:

  • BookLamp.org, by Novel Projects, Inc. in Boise;
  • IMS Environmental Probe, by Boise State University; and
  • Kount E-Commerce Fraud-Control Technology, by Kount Inc., also in Boise.
 

This year’s program has been expanded to include innovative professionals and companies, in addition to technology innovations. Finalists were determined by a committee of Idaho business and technology leaders and votes were tallied by accountants at Cooper Norman.

 

Past winners of the Stoel Rives Idaho Innovation Awards have included MetaGeek, Micron Technology, Ugobe and AMI Semiconductor. Stoel Rives puts on a similar program in Salt Lake City.

 

Those wishing to attend the third annual Stoel Rives Idaho Innovation Awards Oct. 29 have until Oct. 22 to register for event. Held at the Boise Centre on the Grove, tickets cost $40 per person or $400 for a table of 10.
