Idaho foreclosures drop in most recent month

U.S. foreclosure-related filings in April jumped 65 percent from April 2007 and rose 4 percent from March 2008, Irvine, Calif.-based RealtyTrac reported May 14. The group tracks default notices, auction sale notices and bank repossessions.

Idaho in April ranked 18th in foreclosure rate, with one of every 811 homes in some stage of foreclosure, RealtyTrac reported. The U.S. average was one out of every 519. Nevada ranked first, at one out of every 146 homes.

Idaho’s foreclosure rate dropped by 15.5 percent from March 2008, RealtyTrac reported.
