The Idaho Workforce Development Council will meet Thursday in Twin Falls to discuss strategy and set goals for enhancing the state’s labor pool. The meeting will be in the Herrett Center for Arts and Science on the campus of the College of Southern Idaho.
The council, which oversees Idaho Department of Labor work force development programs, will be joined by Assistant Deputy Secretary Doug Small of the U.S. Department of Labor and members of south central Idaho’s Workforce Development Alliance to formally kick off work on a three-year, $5 million federal grant to develop the skilled workforce needed to foster the region’s expanding industrial base.
The discussion of the federal grant program will run from noon to 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
