This week is National Building Safety Week, and the City of Boise wants to recognize those who have made building safety a priority. At a luncheon on May 15, the city will recognize three building owners who have improved safety or accessibility in their building or have used green building techniques in exceptional ways, says building division manager Jenifer Gilliland. “We wanted to recognize the building owners and development professionals who are really doing the right thing with their buildings,” Gilliland says.

Also in conjunction with National Building Safety Week, Boise will host a homeowner permit night. The permit center will be open until 8pm on May 6 for anyone working on a home improvement project to come in and ask questions about or apply for permits.
