It sounds like State Democrats are gearing up for the upcoming presidential elections. Richard Stallings, the chairman of the Idaho Democratic Party and former congressman, says he intends to resign from the Pocatello City Council.

Stallings says he wants to spend more time on his growing consulting business and his role as head of Idaho Democrats.

Stallings announced his resignation at a press conference Tuesday. The resignation will be effective at the end of the year.
