The leaders of seven western Idaho cities are joining together in an attempt to lure new businesses and more jobs.
Officials in Greenleaf, Parma, Wilder, Melba, Homedale, Marsing and Grand View have created the Western Alliance for Economic Development. The three-year partnership is funded by the communities, the nonprofit group Sage Community Resources and the Idaho Department of Commerce Rural Initiative Program.
The alliance provides the cities with a full-time coordinator that will help identify ways to keep and grow current businesses and to encourage new growth.
