Boise’s Planning and Zoning Commission approved plans for the East ParkCenter Bridge Monday night, clearing another hurdle for further development at Harris Ranch.
Harris Ranch is a planned community on Warm Springs Road. The project’s developers, Doug Fowler and Harris Family LP, built 419 homes and some commercial development in the project’s first phase. They plan 3,000 homes in all.
The developers were barred from building later phases until the East ParkCenter Bridge was completed. Otherwise, traffic could have overwhelmed the roads to the development.
The Army Corps of Engineers must still issue a permit for the bridge for the project to go forward, according to Boise Planning Director Hal Simmons. He said he expects the Corps to approve the bridge by the end of the year.
The Boise Planning and Zoning Commission approved plans for the remaining phases of Harris Ranch in May.
