Fisher’s Document Systems, which recently announced plans to relocate to larger quarters, signed a new partnership with Hewlett-Packard Co. HP selected Garden City-based Fisher’s as the exclusive source in Idaho of HP’s new Edgeline color multi-function printers.
Fisher’s is an established partner to HP, whose Edgeline printers aim to combine the best of mono and color copiers in a single device, Fisher’s said in a statement.
Edgeline devices produce professional color copies at costs, speeds and reliability rates competitive with mono copiers – increasing the impact and professional look of documents ranging from basic brochures to product data sheets, Fisher’s said.
HP said in a statement that its CM8050 and CM8060 Edgeline color multi-function printers are a result of a $1.4 billion investment in scalable printing technology.
Financial details of the new partnership with Fisher’s weren’t released.

Taylor said in an interview that Fisher’s plans to move by early August to just over 20,000 square feet at Veteran’s Parkway and the Boise River, Garden City. The company has put its building at 5260 N. Sawyer Ave., Garden City up for lease or sale. Thornton Oliver Keller Commercial Real Estate is marketing the Sawyer Avenue building, which is just over 13,000 square feet.
He said moving is more economical than expanding the Sawyer Avenue building to the north, which was considered. Fisher’s plans to make significant interior upgrades to the building on Veteran’s, he said.
The new building’s planned technology center will enable Fisher’s personnel to mimic customers’ information technology environments and in turn offer recommendations to optimize document management and work flow, Taylor said. Software also will be demonstrated there.
Fisher’s Owner and Board Chairman Gary Mahn, a former Idaho Department of Commerce director, owns the building on Sawyer and half of the Veteran’s Parkway building. The building along Veteran’s once housed much of Fisher’s, including the office-supply segment sold in 1995 to Boise Cascade Office Products.
Boise Cascade’s lease at Veteran’s expired at the end of last year. In late 2004, Boise Cascade merged its office products business with Office Max and sold its timber and wood-products businesses to Boise Cascade LLC.
Taylor said Fisher’s Document Systems employs just over 50, after recently adding more than 10 positions.
The company recently created chief financial officer and chief operating officer positions. J.T. Jones, CFO, previously worked at an accounting firm in Boise. Laurel Herndon worked as an OfficeMax executive in Boise before taking the COO post at Fisher’s. She worked for Fisher’s earlier in her career.
